Wyndemere residents now have the opportunity to keep a close eye on their health, all without leaving the Campus, through TeleHealth. This onsite equipment measures blood pressure, weight and pulse oxygen levels and sends the results to a cardiac nurse specialist at Central DuPage Hospital (CDH).

It isn't often that you find someone who's been devoted to Scouting for 65 years, but 78-year old Wyndemere resident Bob Hickerson has accomplished just that. Beginning in scouting as a youngster, Bob continues to shape the next generation of Boy Scouts though his active participation in the Three Fires Advisory Council in Wheaton.

Growing a green garden.
Sometimes a green thumb can lead to "green" rewards.  While the garden outside of Augustine Neuert's Wyndemere townhome is a pleasure for the eye, it also features area native plants and is attractive to birds and butterflies. Augustine's commitment to conservation recently earned her garden a plaque awarded by The Conservation Foundation, a non-profit land and watershed protection organization.

Connecting across the dinner table.
At dinnertime across the country, the young and the young at heart share the stories of their days.  It's no different at the Wyndemere Senior Living Campus where a team of high school and college students serve as wait staff in Wyndemere's resident dining room. "Our residents adore the students and ask them about their prom dates and other big events in their lives," said Mitch Ashcroft, Director of Dining Services.  "Our student staff loves serving and talking with our residents.  For some of them, it provides a connection with older people that they might not otherwise have in their lives."

A "Shining Star" at Wyndemere

Penny Schneider is one of them.  She is a staff member in the Wyndemere Senior Living Campus' facilities and environment services department, and her days are busy ones.  Penny handles everything from scheduling room requests to managing the contractors and suppliers that keep Wyndemere humming smoothly.
